"The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard but must be felt with the heart." (Helen Keller) How we wish each of you had been in Haiti last month to feel the joy and the hope that exists among the families of the 115 children you helped us send to school last year. The letters the children and their parents wrote were full of thanksgiving: "Thank you for choosing to sponsor me. I love you with all my heart. I wish I could find another word other than thank you to express my gratitude. Only God knows how significant your help is to me. I thank God and ask Him to bless you. Every time I look at your picture you sent me, I feel joy and hope. I feel someone somewhere is thinking about me." Despite economic crises, we have seen your desires to continue to make a difference in Haiti and we thank you.

Americans spent 45 billion dollars on Christmas last year. Can you imagine what 10% or even 1% of that could do towards the bettering of lives in Haiti? As you do your shopping and trimming and preparing this holiday season, we hope that you continue to be mindful of the parents in Haiti who will not have any bright lights on their shacks or any presents under a Christmas tree for their children. Please help us to continue to provide hope for the future through education, for it is truly making a difference! None of us at Haitian Roots could ask for a better or more meaningful gift than a donation to be used towards the building of our first school or the sponsorship of another child.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

Sincerely,

Haitian Roots
